The story behind our craft

Bandhani-Ajrakh

This craft combination pairs two distinct textile traditions from Gujarat's Kutch region: Bandhani, a hand-tied resist tie-dye technique from Bhuj, and Ajrakh, a natural-dye hand block printing craft from Ajrakhpur. Typically the saree body is worked in Bandhani while the pallu carries the block-printed Ajrakh pattern. Both processes are done entirely by hand, giving each piece the handmade character of two separate artisan communities in a single drape.
Product Description

Bottle green Bandhej knotting meets Ajrakh block printing in this modal silk saree, a deep, jewel-toned option within our tie-dye and block print collection. Every knot is tied by hand before dyeing, creating natural texture across the fabric.

Ready To Dispatch

We offer secure shipping with careful packaging to protect the fabric. Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on location and order value.

Ajrakh sarees may have minor color, print, or weave variations due to the manual handblock and handwoven process. These are natural characteristics of handcrafted textiles and are not considered defects.

While we strive to display accurate colors, slight variations may occur due to lighting and screen resolution.

Note: Every Bandhani saree is individually hand-tied by skilled artisans. Due to the traditional tie-and-dye process, the saree may arrive with natural creases and should be gently ironed or rolled before its first wear to achieve the best drape and appearance. This is completely normal and reflects the authenticity of handcrafted Bandhani.
